Career Development

We offer a range of extra workshops throughout the Divemaster and IDC courses.

At XTC we don’t just believe in preparing you to pass exams, we want you to gain real work experiences that help you to find jobs in the dive industry afterwards. As such, we offer a range of extra workshops throughout the Divemaster and IDC courses to help you do just that…

Peak Performance Buoyancy Workshop

We believe that solid dive skills are the foundation to the Divemaster program so we start with all our interns by giving them a buoyancy master class with one of our Instructors.
We practice various techniques and show you the tricks of the trade to help you fine-tune your buoyancy and give you the best start to your diving career.

EcoPro Workshop

Especially written by our in-house Course Director, this EcoPro presentation begins by covering how our resources and the dive industry itself is changing, then goes on to discuss how we can support these changes and help our fragile marine environment.
It encourages all of our new dive professionals to think about how they can incorporate ocean conservation into all of their future training, diving and teaching and become the new generation of sustainable and responsible dive pros.

Dive Theory Workshop

We offer study assistance with individual presentations for the five study modules of the dive theory section of your DM or IDC using custom designed study materials, practice exams and the 2019 updated skill demonstration video.

Equipment Maintenance Workshop

You will be taught how to correctly maintain and troubleshoot the full range of dive equipment that we have in our dive center. This will include learning how to perform visual inspections on scuba cylinders and knowing what to look out for, as well as being able to strip down a regulator and put it back together again plus much, much more.
. Knowing how to fix common equipment issues is invaluable experience for when you are sitting on a boat and a client has a problem!

CV Writing and Job Assistance Workshop

In order to find work after your training course, you will need to be able to sell yourself to your prospective employer using a resume (CV) and covering letter. With many years of experience in the industry, we will help you to understand what employers are looking out for, what to put on your resume and how to write a great covering letter.
We will also show you the resources at your disposal for finding employment and where you can go to look for job opportunities.

Dive Center Management Workshop

Diving is not all about being in the water. Part of making yourself as employable as possible is knowing how other aspects of the dive center work as well. We will train and give you experience in managing all of the working pieces of the dive center from responding to customer enquiries by email to scheduling and organizing boat maintenance.
You will leave with a good understanding of what it takes to keep all aspects of the dive center working seamlessly together.

Tec Diving and Sidemount Introductory Workshops

It is important that, as future dive professionals, we are constantly looking for ways to increase our own learning and stay current in the dive industry. One of the ways we can do this is by learning additional diving courses and continuing our education as dive professionals.
We give you a free introductory workshop to be able to try Technical and Sidemount diving and see a different side of the dive industry. If you decide that you would like to continue, then we can discuss course options with you.
