We’re here to help you start your journey on the PADI professional ladder! Becoming a PADI professional is an amazing experience and Xcalak, Mexico is one of the best places to do it – we’re sure that you will enjoy hanging out in our diverse marine park with our manatees and eagle rays whilst gaining this incredible experience and qualifications!
The Internship program itself combines the Divemaster program and the Instructor Development program, with real work experience in the dive center learning how to problem-solve safety-related issues and to have a positive, solution-oriented attitude toward customer service, business and operational challenges with practical, hands-on experience. During the Instructor Development phase of your Internship you will complete the Instructor Development Course (IDC), then enrol in a PADI Instructor Examination (IE). The IE evaluates the teaching ability, dive knowledge, skill level, understanding of the PADI System, attitude and professionalism that you have learned in the IDC. Upon successful completion, you will be awarded the rating of PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor and be able to teach all PADI courses from Entry-level to Divemaster.
As well as gaining these amazing qualifications, your Internship also includes many bonus courses and workshops that are designed to help you find employment after your training. As a responsible and 100% Project AWARE Dive Centre, we are also 100% committed to making sure that all XTC Interns learn to be environmentally-aware future Instructors and help to preserve this fragile environment for future generations.
The DM/IDC Internship is a fun but challenging course for most people and the outcome is to be able to follow your dreams of trading in that office for the ocean. It’s calling you… Are you ready?
